What to Expect in a Consultation at this clinic
Firstly, the initial consultation will be 1 hour which is apportioned to 15-20 minutes of case history to discuss your presenting complaint. Secondly 15-20 minutes of clinical examination to investigate the source of problem. Finally 20-30 minutes of osteopathy treatment.
Our Osteopath will discuss any lifestyle, exercises and the short term and long term management plans for your presenting complaint. On average most people require 3-4 consultations to resolve the pain and symptoms you maybe experiencing.
Our Osteopaths works very hard to make treatment as painless as possible, but you may experience some discomfort during and after treatment. Your osteopath will warn you if they think that the technique that they are about to use is likely to be uncomfortable and will stop if you tell them that you are feeling too much pain.
Following treatment about half of patients report some mild soreness in the area of their body that was treated, this can usually be relieved with an over the counter pain killer and will go away within 48 hours. If you experience serious or unusual symptoms after treatment you should contact our osteopath straight away for advice.
